Where Is the Chocolate...Candy For Your Wallet
Yesterday I went to a small town in Illinois
with a big sign that said: CHOCOLATE FEST
May 20th to May 22nd
Yum! I thought. I can't wait to dig into this.
I love Chocolate.
After one glorious Italian meal with my kids
we wandered outside in search of Chocolate.
There was live music.
There was plenty to drink.
There were stands full of jewelry.
Some full of toys and clothes and pocketbooks.
But...
Where Was The Chocolate?
Being from New York, I thought I had better stop
a local resident and ask her Where is The Chocolate?
She grinned at my question and told me.
There is No chocolate at the Chocolate Fest.
There is a Cranberry Fest and there are No
cranberries at The Cranberry Fest.
There is a Strawberry Fest and there are no
strawberries at that fest either.
I began to get the picture.
In this small town in Illinois a Fest is just
a wonderful way to say: Come to the Fair.
The weather was glorious.
The town square quaint and welcoming.
The people warm and smiling.
After a while it did not matter if there was
no chocolate at the Chocolate Fest.
